When using the “sh dialplan number” command to test/troubleshoot an international dial-peer you will need to add “timeout” at the end of the syntax. For example: show dialplan number 9011123456789 timeout Without the timeout command you will never hit the international dial-peer. This was news to me and the Cisco TAC engineer who had to [...]

UCCX 8 “Bug” to Watch Out For…

Posted: 20th March 2011 by Rob in Cisco, Uncategorized

CSCtk35441 Bug Details basically states “Dont use admin account names that start with “UCCX”. From the 7.0.1 days our uccx admin account was….uccxadmin. I decided to use that in version 8 to keep things simple and it backfired on me. I couldn’t get in through CLI any more and I also couldn’t get into the [...]

Importance of NTP

I had an issue last week regarding replication between my 8 CUCM nodes and couldnt get it work for the life of me. Low and behold after an hour of googling potential issues I found a post on Cisco’s support wiki saying that if NTP is not working correctly replication will fail. Well sure enough, [...]

On my CUCM and Unity Connection clusters at work I uploaded 8.0.2 code for an upgrade that I will execute this weekend. It’s exciting because 1. I will get to play with some new software that has a lot of nice feature (can you say SAF? I knew that you could!) and 2. because it [...]

Cisco Live! 2010 is in the Books!

Posted: 16th July 2010 by Rob in Cisco, Uncategorized

Plenty of fun was had by all at my company that attended. Attended some really good sessions, my favorite being on CUCM 8 SAF, and got a change to play plenty of blackjack! For it being my first time in Vegas all I can say is WOW! Plenty to do and the strip is just [...]

I recently flew out to Richmond, VA to deploy about 55 phones (7911′s) and a 2921 gateway for a new office we are opening up. There were some routing/firewall changes that needed to be made before these phones would be able to talk to UCM so I traveled back home thinking I would finish the [...]
